If you’re looking for a fun day out for all the family on bank holiday Monday 31st August, then look no further than the London Gatwick Family Fun Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Enjoy an afternoon of great racing and FREE entertainment for the kids including the hugely popular children’s TV characters Ben & Holly who will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day and doing some character narrations, with a narrator recounting tales whilst the characters act out the scenes alongside them. There will be the opportunity to meet the characters and to have your photo taken with them so don’t forget to bring your camera.
The day will start with the Epsom Downs Trainers’ Open Day where you and your children get to see what goes on behind the scenes at the training yards, getting up close with the stars of the track, their trainers and stable staff. The visits commence at 9am until 12noon when the racing yards will be open for you to see the horses in their home environment and chat to the trainers and stable staff who look after them. There will be a courtesy bus service from Car Park 15 on Tattenham Corner Road to the various yards. All proceeds from the yard visits will go to the local charity, Epsom Racing Staff Welfare, which provides affordable accommodation and other welfare benefits for Epsom’s racing staff.

In the afternoon an action packed afternoon of racing and entertainment awaits for the young and old alike with the opportunity to meet TV characters Ben & Holly, a Victorian Carousel, Traditional Helter Skelter, Face painters, Bouncy Castles Slides, Musical entertainment, Crocodile Encounters, Shetland Pony Derby, Kids Races and more! All children’s entertainment is free.
